21 Days of Prayer & Fasting

Day 5

For the Lord will not abandon His people on account of His great name, because the Lord has been pleased to make you a people for Himself. (1 Samuel 12:22)

Lonely? Suffering? In pain? Desperate? Broke? Sometimes, life just doesn’t seem to go our way. Sometimes, our choices or the choices of others, bring disaster or annoyance into our life. It is easy to feel downtrodden and cranky when life is difficult. This is not who we are called to be. Jesus didn’t say, “I have come that they may have life and be cranky.” Jesus said, “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full” (John 10:10).

Have you ever sat in a room with someone and yet felt completely alone? This is how your relationship with God is when you don’t seek Him. You are not alone – He has promised never to leave you – but you still experience feeling alone. Dear one, seek the God who created you, the God who loves you, the God who is the Most High God and the ruler of heaven and earth.

When life is difficult, seek the Lord…when life is painful, seek the Lord…when life is messy, seek the Lord. God has promised to never abandon you – even in the midst of your trials and difficulties, God is there. Even in the midst of poor choices, God is there AND, He is pleased to call you His child. In fact, in all of your life circumstances – good and bad – God is seeking you! He is calling you into a deeper relationship with Him, a more intimate knowing of Him. He wants to show you just how much He loves you!

What do I mean when I say, “Seek the Lord”? I mean SIT – STILL – in His presence for at least 5 minutes. Here are some ideas:

Try one or two of these ideas each day until you get into a new habit of spending time with God. I promise you that God will show up. God will walk your journey with you. God will grant you His peace.
