As Pharaoh approached, the Israelites looked up, and there were the Egyptians, marching after them. They were terrified and cried out to the LORD. They said to Moses, “Was it because there were no graves in Egypt that you brought us to the desert to die? What have you done to us by bringing us out of Egypt? Didn’t we say to you in Egypt, ‘Leave us alone; let us serve the Egyptians’? It would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the desert!”
Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the LORD will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.” (Exodus 14:10-14)
Is there something at your heels? Something you are running from? Something you are waiting for? Something you need healing from? Have you stepped out in faith and now you feel stuck in the in-between of where you were and where you are going? Are you/have you ever looked back and said, “It would have been better for me… [wherever you were].”?
Take heart. Our God is a promise-keeper. He has promised you that your physical needs will be met. He has promised you joy in this life despite your circumstances. If He has called you to this life circumstance, He will get you through it – be still, sit in His presence, let Him fill your soul up with strength and courage – He will fight for you! You.Are.Worth.Fighting.For!
If He has not called you to this life circumstance, what has He called you to? What are some steps you can take to move your life/let Him move your life back into alignment with His best plan for you?
Take the next few minutes to read chapter 14 & chapter 15 of the Book of Exodus (the 2nd book of the Bible, coming into the story of Moses just after Pharaoh has released the Israelites to go to the Promised Land) and then spend 5-10 minutes simply reflecting on the magnificent way that God kept His promises to the Israelites and marveling at His glory. Listen and see what He has to say to you about your present circumstances and your future. He has good things in store for you!
